Israel's Democrazy

Nurit Greenger

The headlines in Israel are nauseating.

The ultraorthodox Ashkenazi Jews are in deep, religion rooted, dispute, coated with miserable social, judicial and political conduct policy, with the not so ultraorthodox Sephardim Jews... In the weeks to come, Israel to expect more protest jihadist 'flotillas; Turkishtilla, Hezbollahtilla, Irantilla, all kinds of 'tillas,' are on their way to Israel's territorial waters, or in the planning, to try break the sea blockade Israel had to impose, for its own security, on the Hama ruled Gaza Strip. This, while the Israeli government is scratching heads not knowing exactly what to do with this new, direct attack on Israel's sovereignty, phenomenon.

After the last treason case of Anat Kam, a new treason case is mushrooming. Another Ha'aretz newspaper reporter is now under Investigation. The Israeli police have begun a criminal investigation against Ilana Hammerman, the Ha'aretz reporter, who, knowingly, took three Palestinian Authority young Arab women across the Green Line – and had the gumption to write that she will do it again.

Former Prime Minister Olmert, also former Jerusalem mayor, and many of his Jerusalem City Cabinet are indicted for corruption, taking bribes in the millions. If former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, the executioner of the unilateral disengagement of Gush Katif from Gaza, was well, not in a coma, he would have had to stand trial for the same crimes and possibly others.

The semi-nomad Bedouin camping in the Galilee and Negev are out of control, stealing National Land and intimidating Israelis. The government has no control of the situation.

Each day a new scandalous headline, each day another bubble bursts! How much more can a nation take!?!

I am beginning to believe that Israelis do not really understand what democracy, in Israel it is democrazy, is all about. Israelis think it is a 'do what you can, how you can with whom you can, however you think' system, everyone is his own king!

Not so Israel. Well, you know, too much freedom can be very dangerous, as it is now the case in Isral.

The question is: Has Israeli society gone mad? Has Israel's various leadership, these past 62 years, were too busy in the day-to-day fending the state and the people from the Arab enemies they simply forgot to develop and have in place a long time planning for a healthy democratic Israeli society?

Sorry Israel, it is not only what is going on...it is also, let it not be out of hand and out of control any longer, any further and farther!
